Distance Education is a learning mode whereby the student and instructor are separated by distance but will have an orchestrated learning environment via e-mail technology or traditional mail.

Distance Education is course work that can be worked on anytime and anywhere. Thus, persons who were once locked out of persuing educational goals because of time or distance constraints can utilize this flexible education delivery mode.

Distance Education is self-directed (independent) study whereby the student follows a course syllabus, turns in assignments and takes tests in a timely manner. An instructor is available for student assistance and to correct assignments and tests.

The future is now. Distance Education is part of a learner-centered educational environment that is evolving and being driven by societal changes and results of the changing educational environment.
